Mickey Rourke will ‘surprise’ Celebrity Big Brother fans after controversy

What did you miss?
Celebrity Big Brother’s Mickey Rourke is about to flip the script after his controversial behaviour during this week’s launch show.
Known for his movie roles in The Wrestler, Iron Man 2, Sin City, The Rainmaker, and The Expendables, the self-proclaimed irascible superstar spent the first portion of his CBB experience checking out co-presenter AJ Odudu. Even though she seemed amused by it all, Odudu needed help from Will Best to move Rourke away from her.
Whilst chatting to Dermot O’Leary and Siân Welby on Tuesday, 8 April’s edition of This Morning, though, Best teased how another side to the housemate will soon begin to flower in front of our eyes.
What, how and why?
Discussing everybody’s first impression of the New Yorker, Best said: “I think he’s gonna be a bit of a loose cannon. It’ll be interesting to see how the other housemates take him – he just gave off this aura of like ‘what am I doing? Where am I?'”
In the opening episode of CBB, the group were told to decide between themselves which individual would get first dibs on the Prize Room.
Without hesitation, Rourke stood up and headed for the door, leaving the others to watch on in entertained surprise.

Previewing what happened next, Best told O’Leary and Welby that the contestant’s brashness doesn’t paint a complete picture of him.
“Immediately you’re thinking, ‘OK, Mickey is gonna take it upon himself to be very selfish in there,’ but I think his choices in that room might surprise people. And actually he might’ve gone in there with more of an altruistic attitude, so I think it’s gonna be this kind of interesting thing of like: you think he’s gonna be one thing, maybe he’s gonna be something else… or maybe not?” he shared.
What awaits Rourke in the Prize Room?
Thanks to the housemates’ exploits in the first episode of the series, they now have 2,400 points to use in the Prize Room.
So far, we know that family phonecalls will be up for grabs, as well a sleepover in a luxurious double bed. Apart from that, it’s been suggested “special powers” such as eviction-immunity can be utilised, and the ability to end someone else’s CBB journey right there and then.
Will Rourke really turn into a man of the people?
Celebrity Big Brother continues Tuesday, 8 April on ITV1 and ITVX.
