Look for Ullmark to get the start Tuesday in Tampa Bay.
“It’s been a long road, but I’ve looked forward to this for a long time,” Ullmark told TSN 1200’s Gord Wilson following Monday’s morning skate. “Just throw me into the fire.”

Ullmark, who has missed the past 18 games with a back injury, was hot before the setback with an 8-0-1 record in his previous nine appearances (1.43 goals-against average and a .960 save percentage).
“There are bumps along the way you can’t really account for, but at the same time you have to be mindful that (your absence) may be prolonged or it could go quicker than expected,” Ullmark said.
Ullmark still is listed as one of the goaltenders for Team Sweden in the coming 4 Nations Face-Off. But he says he’s not thinking ahead.
“I don’t care about the 4 Nations at the moment,” he said. “For now, it’s just Ottawa Senators.”
It looks like the Senators will be without centre Josh Norris for at least the next couple of weeks. He isn’t with the Senators on their four-game road swing this week.
Going into their game against the Predators, the Senators have been sizzling with a 7-0-2 record. Most recently, they put a 6-0 beating on the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.
Asked about what’s clicking for his team, Senators head coach Travis Green said: “They’re figuring out what it takes to win in this league, how to have consistency, how to stick with their game.”
Asked about Jake Sanderson, who was named the NHL’s third star for last week (with two goals and four assists), Green said: “Nothing surprising. He had a really good game the other night, the whole team had a good game. Jake does not have a lot of off nights.”
