Sony has partnered with tech leasing service Raylo to offer a rental scheme for PlayStation 5 hardware in the UK via its Flex program.

Customers will have the ability to lease PS5 consoles and other accessories for no upfront cost with either a flexible monthly rolling plan that can be cancelled at any time, or a set period.

The flexible monthly rolling plan is the most expensive, with rental prices decreasing with the 12, 24, and 36-month lease options.

Hardware available to rent includes:

  • PS5 Digital Edition with one controller (starting from £10.99)
  • PS5 Digital Edition with two controllers (starting from £13.49)
  • PS5 Slim (starting from £11.99)
  • PS5 Pro (starting from £18.95)
  • PS Portal (starting from £6.49)
  • PS VR2 (starting from £18.49)
  • DualSense Edge Wireless Controller (starting from £7.99)

The full prices for each payment plan can be found here.

On its support page, Sony clarified that as these are rentals, customers do not own the console.

“You have the option to return, upgrade or you may have the option to purchase the device at the end of your lease, subject to Raylo’s discretion and pricing at that time,” it notes.

Devices rented by Raylo have a lifetime warranty, so if the hardware fails or is damaged it can be “repaired and replaced at no additional cost.”
